Café Gulistan

13581 Red Arrow Highway, Harbert 269-469-6779

Mideast and Kurdish cuisine with Turkish and Lebanese wines. A unique atmosphere that features ten-dollar entrees everyday year round.  There are a variety of vegetarian options to choose from, as well as lamb, beef, and chicken dishes.

  • 🐟BF Local Tip:  The pita and falafel appetizer is a must and their split pea soup is actually a very flavorful yellow lentil soup with a smoky flavor.  If you have room, the baklava is amazing and the mango cheese cake divine.

Luisa’s Café and Harbert Swedish Bakery

13698 Red Arrow Highway, Harbert 269-469-1777

Family style café using only fresh, natural, simple ingredients, served in a clean, friendly place.  Attached is the historical Harbert Swedish Bakery that continues to make the same treats they were making 100 years ago…Swedish Limpa and Sweet Rye, Cardamom Coffee Cakes, Fruit Pastries and Ginger Molasses Cookies to name a few.

  • 🐟BF Local Tip: A local favorite are the Dutch Apple Pancakes.  They take 18 minutes to cook so plan accordingly.  They are a spongy texture, very similar to an actual cake and are light and fluffy.  Want something lighter?  Try Donna’s scramble made with organic egg whites, spinach, grape tomatoes, grilled onions and feta cheese.  It’s served with hand-sliced potatoes cooked to your liking.
